On December 15, 2021, the Department of Sociology of the University of Athens signed a protocol of cooperation with the Institute of Commerce and Services (INEMY), the research institute of the tertiary organization of Greek commerce, the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE).
The two entities decided to proceed with this collaboration in order to strengthen their developmental trajectory. More specifically: to promote scientific research and its connection to entrepreneurship, and to pursue the joint scientific study of issues and problems of mutual interest through joint programs, empirical research, and studies.
They also organize internships for students of the Department of Sociology at the Institute and, more generally, student participation in various INEMY research projects. Within this framework, they will seek collaborations with national or international research networks and organize training or educational seminars, joint vocational training programs, lectures, conferences, and social events for the broader dissemination and more complete information of the public on common issues.
Finally, they will be active in print and open-access digital publications related to research approaches and records of social trends.
