The Sociology Department has three laboratories: The Digital Studies Lab, the Laboratory of Social Theory and Empirical Research and the Consumption, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Laboratory. The purpose of the Laboratories is, on the one hand, to serve as a space where undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students of the department will have the opportunity to become familiar with the requirements and peculiarities of research in their respective fields of knowledge; on the other hand, to act as entities through which the Department of Sociology will establish research collaborations with other laboratories, research centers, businesses, and social organizations for the production of original research results in areas of common interest. Furthermore, the Laboratories design and implement educational programs, course cycles, scientific lectures, workshops, seminars, conferences, and outreach activities through which the Department of Sociology engages with the scientific community and the general public.
