(2) LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:

  • understand the relationship between gender, scientific knowledge and technological development,
  • analyze issues of gender inequalities, stereotypes, and social structures that influence the production of science and its design,
  • to understand the shaping of gender roles in STEM fields, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, digital labor, etc.

(3) COURSE CONTENT

The course examines the relationship between gender, scientific knowledge, and technological development, analyzing how gender inequalities, stereotypes, and social structures influence both the production of science and the design, use, and social impacts of technology. It focuses on Feminist Science and Technology Studies (STS), the shaping of gender roles in STEM fields, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, digital labor, and the ethical, political, and social dimensions of technological innovation. The objective is to develop a critical understanding of how gender co-shapes scientific knowledge, technological progress, and social power relations.
